On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, Governor Mark Dayton of Minnesota, signed into law a marriage equality bill. Minnesota is now the 12th state to legalize gay marriage. The mayor of Minneapolis, R.T. Rybak, immediately tweeted that he will be at the Capitol Building at 12:01am on August 1, 2013, the day that the new legislation takes effect–ready to officiate any and all wedding ceremonies.
